MEET THE FOUNDER

It started with words

I’m Melba, a Dominican American poet, author, and founder of Poetic Nectar, based on Florida’s Treasure Coast. What began as a way to put words to grief, healing, and becoming has grown beyond the page into something I never expected: a space for people to gather, create, reflect, and connect.

My first poetry collection, Unplanted, Yet Flourishing, is where much of that journey began. Today, Poetic Nectar carries that same spirit into books, workshops, markets & pop-ups and experiences rooted in honest human connection.
